Studio Visit | jean-philippe dordolo

We visit Jean-Philipe's studio to learn how he plays with the language of mediums

The artist's studio is located in an industrial building in Peckham. Though small in size, it's views of south London are enchanting. The space is illuminated by two natural windows, while all of its surface is crowded with the artist's vast array of tools along with personal research stuck on the wall. These references include pop culture icons such as 'Family Guy' or 'The Simpsons' printed A4 sheets of paper, images of shapes, Renaissance portraits, personal photographs, or a hanging TV screen. Ahead of the artist's Master's degree at the Slade School of Fine Arts, we caught up with Dordolo to learn more about his unique takes on colour - and how he achieves something voluminous and sculptural out of something flat.
